The TTI Bursary South Africa is a scholarship opportunity for students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds or from the “missing middle” (parents or guardians have a total annual income of between R350 000 and R600 000) who are pursuing tertiary education in South Africa.

How to apply for the TTI Bursary South Africa:

1. Eligibility. To be eligible for the TTI Bursary program, there are requirements you need to meet. Read the requirements below if you are planning to apply:

  • You must be a South African citizen. Either by birth or naturalization, you must submit a proof of citizenship.
  • The applicant must come from a historically disadvantaged background or the “missing middle.”
  • Have excellent academic results. The scheme stresses higher academic performance.
  • You must be registered or accepted to study at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa for a qualification in the fields of Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related fields.

2. Required Documents:

The following documents are necessary for the application for the TTI Bursary program.

  • Certified copy of your South African ID document.
  • Proof of acceptance or registration to a tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Full academic record, including your most recent results (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Profile photo (head and shoulders).

3. Application Process:

The application process is mostly available from 1 May to 31 July of each year. But on second thought, you have to check the TTI Bursary website or social media pages for the latest application deadlines.

  • Submit all necessary supporting documents along with your application.
  • Make sure your application is complete, accurate and submitted before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

4. Selection Process:

  • Selected applicants will be called for an interview.
  • The selection committee will review your academic record, financial need, and potential to succeed in your chosen field of study.
  • Successful candidates will be notified by the end of October/November of the year.
