Eligibility Requirements

  • Citizenship: The applicant must be a South African citizen and resident of the Western Cape province.
  • Age: Under 26 years old for first-time applicants. This means if you are more than the specified age, it will be difficult for you to be shortlisted.
  • University: The applicant must be studying at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) or Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).
  • Year of study: Entering 2nd or higher year (up to Honours) in 2024.
  •  Financial need: You must demonstrate financial need with a household income between R350 000 and R600 000 per hour.

The Garden Cities Bursary Application 2024/2025

The Garden Cities Bursary application for 2024 is not yet open, as of January 2nd, 2024. The bursary typically opens between January and February of each year. Because there is no dedicated date for the opening, you need to keep an eye on the bursary’s website for updates.
