Honours students: Employed students may receive up to R45,000, while unemployed students may receive up to R70,000. The simple reason is that employed students do not have many financial difficulties as compared to their unemployed counterparts.

Masters students: Employed students may receive up to R55,000, while unemployed students may receive up to R90,000.

PhD students: Employed students may receive up to R65,000, while unemployed students may receive up to R120,000.
