Garden Cities Bursary Closing Date

The Garden Cities Bursary is a financial aid program that supports disadvantaged Western Cape students aiming for undergraduate or postgraduate studies at UWC or CPUT. The program covers accommodation, feeding fees, and tuition fees among others.

The Garden Cities Bursary typically covers tuition, accommodation, and other study-related expenses. This initiative is to alleviate any financial burden students may face during their studies.

The bursary is limited to South African students who meet all the requirements.

Garden Cities Bursary Closing Date

The closing date of the bursary is February of each year. The closing date for the 2023 academic year has already passed.

  • For UWC students, the deadline was February 17, 2024.
  • For CPUT students, the deadline was February 28, 2024.

Currently, the 2024 academic year is not open. Based on the previous closing dates, we can say that the bursary closes typically in February each year.

The Garden Cities Bursary is available to South African citizens who are enrolled in their 2nd year or higher of an undergraduate or honours degree program at either UWC or CPUT. Students must be from the Western Cape province and have a combined household income of between R350,000 and R600,000 per year. The applicant must also not have applied for any other bursaries.

If you are interested in the Garden Cities Bursary, you can start the process by contacting the Financial Aid office at your university in early 2024. The deadlines for the 2024 academic year will likely be announced in January or February.
