BDO is an international accounting firm originally established in 1963. They specialize in providing accounting, auditing, and business advisory services to individuals or other firms. BDO currently operates in 167 countries with more than 50000 employees on their payroll.

Owing to their speciality in accounting, BDO aims to assist aspiring Chartered Accounting students in achieving their career aspirations through the BDO Bursary. Applicants with robust financial skills, a commendable academic record and financial needs stand a greater chance of meeting the requirements for this bursary.

Below are the steps students need to follow to apply for the BDO bursary:

Proceed to attach every supporting document require and submit the completed application form. Supporting documents include:

  • Certified ID documents
  • Matric certificate, if applicable
  • Matric latest results, if currently in Matric
  • Tertiary full academic record, if currently at tertiary level.

Selection Process

The scholarship will be awarded to the student whom BDO South Africa believes has met all the basic requirements and deserves the scholarship. The selected applicants will have robust financial skills, a commendable academic record and financial needs.

Applicants who have successfully secured the opportunity will be invited to work for BDO SA for a duration equivalent to the bursary period as part of the exchange program.

Remember, the bursary is contingent on meeting specific requirements and is renewable only if the student satisfies the stipulated conditions.
